Wirepas, a very very good IoT company, teams with Extronics precisely for that. Extronics introduces a new connectivity option for intrinsically safe IoT. This partnership broadens Wirepas’ harsh environment ecosystem with a company specializing in IoT for hazardous environments and potentially explosive atmospheres.
The partnership starts with a product line of four products: A personnel badge tag, a tag for assets, and a location anchor, which form the basis of an easy-to-deploy battery-powered Real Time Location System (RTLS). The solution is complemented by a Wirepas Mesh enabled Extronics gateway, and all products come with an ultra-rugged design suitable for a range of harsh and hazardous areas. The whole solution is easy to install with the tags and anchors boasting up to 5 years of battery life. Additionally, all products come with a wide variety of explosive atmosphere certifications such as ATEX, IECEx and NEC500/NEC505
